Held at the National Theatre from the 5th-8th, May 2011. The film festival brought together film makers and film lovers from across the country to learn, appreciate and develop the movie industry.
From the applauding audience that turned up in big numbers, comprising of various stake holders in the industry, it was clear that this festival was a no joke.
Movies that premiered showcased a deepening level of professionalism and a rich talent that embrace the history, but by the time the committee announced the time for awards, I Was There a movie about love directed by Mzee Bwanika Julius, had set the competitive pace and had won a whooping 6 nominations, second only to none.
However, all did not go well as we only managed to win one but the most acclaimed 2011 Producer of the year. We lost other categories by a thin line but that did not kill but only re-ignites our energies to stay competitive in the years ahead!
